Comments on: Ken Livingstone to the European Commission?

Are there no female candidates for the 2009 Commission? Ashton doesn’t seem a likely option for the longterm.
I think Ken did great things in London, but the climate was right at the time. We’re looking towards to serious recession and the EU and all its member states will need a Commission to ensure the tightening of all belts.

I can see why you are suggesting him for the Euro Commission. As London Mayor he created a huge amount of bureaucracy, and wasted taxpayer’s money on an enormous scale, so he should fit in very well.

Livingstone is finished thank god.

@David – I think having the Treaty of Lisbon would have improved Blair’s chances. Commission has too much tedious admin for him – he wants the world stage only, and the President of the European Council position created by the Treaty of Lisbon would have allowed that.
