Dear Jon, it's great to have an opinion on everything, but I can't possibly see how your opinion on Oettinger and Andor would be supported by facts. From your point of view, having a Wikipedia page might seem to be a necessary qualification for a Commissioners job, I have my doubts about that. You pick up a few unverified sources and have your judgement ready quite quickly. I'm not a fan of Oettinger by all means, but he surely has the potential to do a better job than the German industry's previous lobbyist-in-chief, Günther Verheugen. And Andor, by all accounts that I heard from people who actually know him personally is way more qualified than his predecessor (and real Commie) Kovács was or the other possible candidates whose names were circulating would have been… And especially you as social democrat should be happy that there is at least one proper left-wing person in a college of 27… The comparison with Buttiglione (who actually made derogative comments on homosexuals after being nominated) is in both cases complete nonsense.
